Where's the plug?
Girls do like to look their best, even if they are in a field where they will be seen by no one other than each other. On our first camp the girls hadn't really got to grips with the  meaning of the phrase 'back to basics'
They all arrived excited and ready for a great weekend, which went fine until the first morning when one of the girls came up to the leaders with hair dryer in hand wanting to know where she could plug it in.
Bearing in mind we were in a field with no sign of electricity for miles we couldn't help but see this as an opportunity for a bit of fun.
The following conversation took place
Brownie
Where can I plug my hair dryer in?
Leader
Um, we are in a field, where do you think you can plug it in?
Brownie
I don't know, that why I'm asking you
Leader (pointing to tree)
Well you see that tree over there, the third one along.
Brownie
Yes
Leader
If you look round the back you will find a plug socket near the bottom of the tree
The girl went off accross the field, hair dryer in hand to find the socket.
Several minutes later she returned
Brownie
Leader
I've looked all over the tree and I can't see where to put the plug
Which tree where you looking at
Brownie (pointing to tree)
The third one, like you said
Leader    Oh! I'm really sorry I got the wrong tree, it's the next one along
With a sigh the girl started off accross the field again
We waited until she had gone a few steps before we couldn't contain our laughter any more and calling her back we tried to explain the finer points of 'back to basics'
